They get ad revenue and distribute a good to me digitally. I pay them in watching of ads.

but I guess that's why itunes, amazon, and best buy all have failing digital distribution models... /sarcasm

The public wants DD. They just want it to be better first.

ur right... nobody uses hulu or youtube or megavideo :-X

light sensitivity isn't really format specific. You're going to need a new player to use these regardless of whether you have a blu-ray or DVD player. That was just comparing the sensitivity of the sensors to blu-ray.

still want to know read speeds :(

How do you know it won't? They already said it's probably going to be more cost effective than blu-ray on a per gigabyte basis.

The big thing is going to be read times, which won't be known for a bit.

no crap revenue went down because the 360 dropped in price. It says it in their report. You've said in this thread as well as others that the 360 is being sold at a loss, which you don't have evidence to back up. You just have evidence that they are making less money off it than they used to. That is not the same as a loss.

If it were being sold at a loss, they should have a bigger loss than a loss explained entirely and two times over by an increase in research and development s...

"EDD operating income decreased primarily due to increased research and development expenses and cost of revenue. Research and development expenses increased $66 million or 18%, primarily reflecting increased headcount-related expenses associated with the Windows Mobile device platform."

from the financial report. RnD increased 66 million bucks. By nature, RnD provides 0 revenue at that time, but is an investment for later.

If RnD costs went up 66 million, ...

Would work great as a cheap gaming rig for MMO's or not graphical power house games.

Then said PS3 games continue to look better.

Considering the PC has the single most graphically impressive game ever right now, I'd say that's kinda a dagger in the heart of your theory of PC games not being impressive.

They didn't gimp one version. It's not like they had this shining pinnacle of gaming running on the PS3 and decided "hey! let's make it worse!"

It's a worse version because they couldn't get it running as well on the PS3. It's not like they one day decided they were just going to see how badly they could give PS3 owners the shaft. Sometimes making things equal on all platforms just isn't possible if you want to be profitable (and they ARE a business. They HAVE TO be pro...

I wouldn't really be crying.

After buying a lot of oblivion DLC, I could really care less about the DLC for fallout. There were only 1 or 2 really good Oblivion DLC packages.

I'd be more upset about GTA, but that DLC was announced well before the game was released.

u guys are really making a bigger deal out of this than you should be. Especially with that amazing lineup I keep hearing so much about.

you had to rebuy the same game again in a future version to get extra content not originally on the disk.

Now you just pay a small amount and download an expansion...

The entire pokemon franchise is evidence to what happens without downloadable content.

edit: well then why are you whining about DLC? plenty of games did exactly what DLC did in rereleases or expansions. The only difference was with one you had to go to a store to get it (and usually pay mo...

don't you understand?

Everyone on the internet has a doctorate in hardware design.

6266d ago 1 agree1 disagreeView comment

Is good for developing games easily and cheaply. It's not an engine designed to push hardware. When the price and development time are counted, the unreal engine provides great bang for your buck. Maybe not the best bang period, but you get great results for the money and time put into it.

When you look at the good games he compares to on PS3, each one has it's own dedicated engine built from the ground up to run on the PS3 and no other platform. Really the only game that looks b...

You are both somewhat right.

Not all modern HD-TV's work with the 0-255 range, so you should really check your TV before changing the settings.

You definitely shouldn't set your PS3 to full RGB if your tv is set for video standard, which I'm guessing a lot of people do due to poor labeling of settings.
